Stupid people - ruling the world With a whole lot of ends that will never be furled. It's been coming now for years but it's growing in numbers clouding up my dreams of a future of wonders It's time when opinion is outdoing facts the lies are so common that no one reacts Energy prices, double-digit inflation Bigots, disasters, war, and desolation When I grew up, I thought leaders did what they should That everyone was in really good hands But then I saw it was greedy up at the top and even worse - it was run by ignorants How could it be - that elected people were bad Are we all fools to put them in power? Across the globe, it's the same repeating itself We just consume and devour I don't give up, and I still believe We can get through the dark times ahead but we need help Someone to give us a hand Who will it be? Is there anyone? is it time to look up in the sky? Waiting for them? Hoping that ET will land? A night - with shining armored ships Before the total eclipse It's really bad when disasters pile up a wall and no one cares but to fill their pockets. We look away and refuse to hearing the call Nowhere to go without rockets. Bribery and greed are a long tradition But it's time for us to make a big transition caring 'bout each other is a good beginning but planning ahead is the way to winning I want to look at a brighter future Not just patching up the wounds with a sloppy suture Will they come? A night - with shining armored ships Before the total eclipse shining armored ships I feel we're losing our grips

Took a Look 02:49
Everywhere there's a sign or a TV-screen tryin' to sell me some stuff that I'd never would want I'm sick and tired of the Cars or the chairs in my face pushing day and night and I simply don't care. I am done with it now 'cause I just Took a look - but I didn't like it So - I looked - away! You know the look I took and you couldn't strike A nerve to make me stay And so I Took a look - but I didn't like it So - I looked - away! You know the look I took and you couldn't strike a nerve to make me stay Give me a day without somebody wanting me to be starting to pay for some stuff I don't need I'm sick and tired of it! Took a look - but I didn't like it So - I looked - away! You know the look I took and you couldn't strike a nerve to make me stay Sure, I am still buying Some things but Please leave me alone I simply want to take my time and see what you're supplying - in good time then choose on my own. And so I Took a look - but I didn't like it So - I looked - away! You know the look I took and you couldn't strike a nerve to make me stay FYI Took a look - but I didn't like it So - I looked - away! You know the look I took and you couldn't strike A nerve to make me stay

It Will Come 03:29
Freezing cold, rainy pouring down Wating for a train in my home town Hoping it will arrive on time but there is still no light to see And knowing that I can't be late I've got a big appointment Nothing could be worse than if I missed it oh what drama it would be I'm standing alone here But I am sure it's gonna come! It's wet here out on the platform I surely hope that it's really gonna come Freezing here on my own And hopin' the train is gonna come Looking down at my phone But there is no info about it and my fingers are going so numb I know I should have taken The early train Then I would not be waiting here in vain Thinking 'bout the environment Getting rid of my car Now, there's just a little requirement The timetable has to be true or I won't travel very far I'm standing alone here But I am sure it's gonna come! It's wet here out on the platform I surely hope that it's really gonna come Freezing here on my own And hopin' the train is gonna come Looking down at my phone But there is no info about it and I'm starting feeling so dumb! I'm standing alone here But I am sure it's gonna come! It's wet here out on the platform I surely hope that it's really gonna come Freezing here on my own And hopin' the train is gonna come Still looking down at my phone But there is no clue there to tell me when the train is going to come!

1981 - A man, in Japan - Kodama opened a new dimension. Insurgence without the drama Printing in slow ascension Layer by layer the world started changing In came a force that was all rearranging A world with 3D printers What will it be - like? Long gone are wooden splinters Shapes taking form Whatever you can dream of Just press a button Let´s go beyond and way above That is the norm Rasin and then with powders. Lasers to heated nozzles. Gone were the old dividers Solving the hardest of puzzles. Plastic and concrete can both be extruded Metal and even the cells are included Remember the craft that made everything possible when you go beyond what was once - uncrossable

Journey through the walk of life You will meet different kinds of folk But they'll know, only what you show them People are like onion skins It goes deep so you don't have a clue who they are Cortex down to brain stem I know you thought you knew me But you were really wrong Inside it's very roomy Space for unknowable Things I do to make you like me A game I play so well What makes me shine so brightly? Truth? But you never can tell. I have got the magic touch I can see, what you don't know yourself And to fit, become somebody else I know you thought you knew me But you were really wrong Inside it's very roomy Space, for unknowable things I could be a secret agent I could be a millionaire I could speak with phony accent Whatever you need I'll be there But will it be me? I know you thought you knew me But you were really wrong Inside it's very roomy Space, for unknowable things I do to make you like me A game I play so well What makes me shine so brightly? Truth? But you never can tell. You never can tell! No, you never can tell! You never can tell!

about

ABSYNTH:

"Damokles’ Shining Armor combines his inimitable voice, entertaining song lyrics and a well composed and produced synthpop sound. The retro vibes are well and truly alive here but the production is bang up to date. Most crucially, this album is pure fun to listen to!

The way in which Damokles’ voice fuses with his songwriting fits Shining Armor’s overall feeling well. One could never mistake him for any other vocalist with his unique tone and deep voice. His vocal style suits the ironic, humorous and sometimes sharp-edged lyrics of his songs and adds an extra dimension of expression.

Experience and taste define the synth sound and overall production on Shining Armor. Damokles has been making synth-based music for decades and he knows how to combine varied tones, timbres and musical colours to explore the moods he wants to create in his tracks. He’s a master at layering which results in lush soundscapes enhanced by his pin-sharp production. "

ZERO MAGAZINE:

"Damokles knows his Prince, his Stevie Wonder, and his Funkadelic. His music is electronic, but it is also alive and cool and you can really see him wielding his keytar while listening.

He also has a production rate in class with Prince in his glory days. This summer he released Bits & Pieces 4 and already now the new Shining Armor is out.

The common thread is nice synth sounds, intelligent melodies, and a portion of sympathetic humor, but one difference from previous releases is that Shining Armor does not have as clear a science fiction theme.

As usual, Damokles is broad in his creation and we find many varied influences from the colorful eighties he never left."
